These pictures are from our first snowfall here at Lakeview Ranch which occurred Monday, November 30th. Even though our temperatures since then have been unseasonably warm and the snow has, for the most part, melted, there is something about the first snow fall of the year that gives a sense of settling. It seems when the snow moves in, we are ready to settle in and enjoy the moments of slowing everything down. In the warmer months here in Minnesota, we tend to want to race and rush; we want to accomplish all of the things we have been putting on our to-do lists, play in the warm weather by being outside and engaged in activities, and feel guilty when we don’t enjoy every moment of “good weather” as we say. Yet, the first snow fall allows us to stop and take it in…even for only a short time because in a few short months we will be tired of the snow and cold and will start our to-do lists and our dreams of “good weather”.
